Baltimore native Daryl Roles started playing the drums at the age of five.  He joined his first band at the age of ten and began performing at parties, street fairs and eventually nightclubs.

After high school, he joined the Army and began jamming with army band musicians on local gigs. They urged him to audition for a seat in the army jazz band and he did realizing it was an opportunity to study and perform full time with some of the world's finest musicians.

Darryl received formal training at the Army Element School of Music.  During his tenure with the Army, he performed for three U.S. Presidents Ronald Reagan, George Bush Sr., Bill Clinton, and Egyptians President Hosni Mubarak and toured  throughout the U.S., Europe, South East Asia and Africa. He retired from the U.S. army in 1998, and has since performing extensively throughout the Southwest.
